The long-rumored Lamborghini SUV concept will make its global debut next week at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show as an attempt to test the Chinese consumers' interest in a Lamborghini-badged SUV.

The concept, probably with the name of Deimos, features a front-engine layout, and a size similar to Audi Q7. Previous reports said that the model will utilize a VW Group PL71 SUV platform, which also underpins Porsche Cayenne, Volkswagen Touareg, Audi Q7 and the upcoming Bentley SUV. The carbon fiber technology will be used to help reduce the overall weight as much as possible. It will combine a 5.2L V10 engine for an output of about 585-hp.

The concept's production version won't arrive until 2017, and will cost about US$200,000.
