Twelve scenic areas in Sichuan, half of which are in the northeast part of the province, recently gained the status of national AAAA-rated scenic areas.

Of the six in northeast Sichuan, three are in Dazhou and the other three are in Guangyuan.

The three in Dazhou are Yuehu Lake Scenic Area, Red Army Park Scenic Area, Biyaowan Scenic Area; the three in Guangyuan are Mumen Scenic Area, Red Army City Scenic Area and Bolin Old Town Scenic Area.
