Dagu Glacier snow fest., Jiuzhaigou ice waterfall fest. to open
The 2017 Heishui Dagu Glacier Snow and Ice Tourism Festival and the 13th China Jiuzhaigou International Ice-Waterfall Festival are slated to open on Dec. 28.
The two festivals will kick off at Dagu Glacier Scenic Area in Heishui County of the Aba Tibet and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture. They will run until March 2018, offering tourists a grand feast with a series of snow and ice activities.
Dagu Glacier, which features modern mountain glaciers rarely seen in the world, is inviting tourists to set the attraction's ticket price for 2018, as the upcoming new year marks the tenth anniversary of its opening. Tourists can cast a vote for their preferred admission price at 60 yuan, 80 yuan, 100 yuan or 120 yuan via the destination's WeChat account prior to Dec. 30, and the option with the highest votes will become the new price since Jan. 1, 2018.
The destination will also send tourists 1,000 tickets to explore for free its snow-capped peaks, magnificent glaciers, primitive forests, lakes, Tibetan villages and unique folk customs.
Other activities include interesting challenge games, praying for good luck in the new year, greeting the Tibetan New Year, or Losar and educational tours.
This year's Jiuzhaigou International Ice-Waterfall Festival, themed on "Time Travel," will broadcast live online the magnificent beauty of Jiuzhaigou over the next three months as the scenic area has been temporarily closed since it was hit by an earthquake on Aug. 8.
Tourists across the world will be invited to share the beauty of Jiuzhaigou in their eyes via H5 electronic albums they produce.
The events are co-hosted by Dagu Glacier Scenic Area Administration and Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area Administration.
