Jiuzhaigou, or Jiuzhai Valley, in Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province, was placed on a ranking of the top 10 tourism destinations in China recently.

Tripadvisor, one of the world’s largest travel websites, has released its 2017 Tourist Choice rankings chosen by millions of tourists visiting the website. The top 10 destinations in China are well-known both in China and in the world at large.

Jiuzhaigou is a magical fairyland of nature offering an enchanting mixture of mountains, forests, lakes, waterfalls and teeming wildlife. During autumn, colorful leaves are reflected in the clear emerald water of the local lakes.

The lakes vary in color according to their depths, angle at which the light strikes them and the surroundings, creating a stunning contrast with the blue sky and snow-white clouds.

The other nine among the top 10 are Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Lhasa, Xi'an, Shangri-La, Chengdu, Huangshan and Hangzhou.
