The Crescent Lake, or Yueyaquan, a crescent-shaped lake in the middle of an oasis, is located 6 kilometers south of Dunhuang. Surrounded by Mingsha Mountain, it stretches out for 100 meters, from south to north, and 25 meters from east to west. Dubbed "the First Spring in Sand," the Crescent Lake has been a scenic wonder since ancient times.
