Founded in 1991, Belle International Holdings Ltd. is the largest retailer of ladies' footwear in China. Its business is divided into two main segments: footwear and sportswear . According to the survey conducted by the China Industrial Information Issuing Center in 2009, six brands from Belle International were ranked among the top 10 in the women's leather footwear market in China. By June 30, 2010, the retail outlets the company directly operated numbered 10,315 in the Chinese mainland and 200 in Hong Kong and Macau.
