China offers aid to Kyrgyzstan

China has pledged further aid to Kyrgyzstan, urging for stability and economic development in the Central Asian state that is recovering from last year's political turmoil.
As a friendly neighbor, China pays close attention to the development of the Kyrgyz situation, Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping told Omurbek Babanov, first vice prime minister of Kyrgyzstan, Thursday.
"China sincerely hopes that Kyrgyzstan will maintain social stability, continue economic development, and that all people there can make a good living," Xi said during their meeting at the Great Hall of the People.
He pledged that China will provide assistance within its ability to Kyrgyzstan via bilateral means or multilateral frameworks like the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Xi hailed the sound Chinese-Kyrgyz ties, including enhanced political mutual trust, firm mutual support on major issues concerning core interests and pragmatic cooperation in various fields and within international bodies like the United Nations and SCO.
China will work with Kyrgyzstan to strengthen friendship, deepen cooperation and enhance coordination on regional and international affairs to further promote the good-neighborly and cooperative ties, he said.
Babanov, in his turn, pledged to abide by bilateral agreements and legal documents which have been inked between his country and China.
He vowed to promote bilateral ties and cooperation in such sectors as trade, economy, transportation, electricity and infrastructure construction.
Kyrgyzstan will continuously stick to the one-China policy and back China's stance on Taiwan, Tibet and on the strike against the "three evil forces" of separatism, extremism and terrorism.
