Day 7: Mt. Danxia 丹霞山

Danxia Mountain, located in the north of Guangdong province, is called the "Red Stone Park of China." Throughout the world, landforms of red sandstone characterized by red rock walls and cliffs are named Danxia (literally "rosy sunbeams" in Chinese) landforms after Danxia Mountain.

Transport: Take the train to Shangguan first, then take a bus from the square in the front of Shangguan Railway Station. Bus tickets for the 45-minute, 50-kilometer ride are 10 yuan each.
