Day3: Mount Xiqiao 西樵山

Xiqiao Mountain is an extinct volcano that has been formant since even before prehistoric times. As a national scenic area, it offers marvelous scenery, with 72 peaks, 36 caves, lakes, fountains and pools. On the top of Daxian Peak, there is a statue of Kwan-yin 61.9 meters high, referring to the date when Kwan-yin (revered for her compassion by Mahayana Buddhists) gained enlightenment, July 19.

Transport: there are six tourist buses every day from Guangzhou to Xiqiao Mountain Scenic Area, a 40-minute journey. There are also buses running at intervals of 20 minutes from Fozhan Bus Station.
