Jiaozi Snow Mountain stands in the mid-north of Yunnan's Luquan Yi and Miao Autonomous County, 120 kilometers (74.56 miles) from the urban areas of Kunming. The snow-capped mountain was named after its shape, which looks like a Jiaozi ("sedan chair" in Chinese). Its highest point -- Hyperion, at 4,223 meters above sea level -- is the highest peak in all of Kunming.

During the time of snow and ice, from late November to March, the area’s glacial lakes, ice waterfalls, fog and snow compose a breathtaking picture. In fact, it is a perfect destination for all four seasons: ice in spring, flowers in summer, water in autumn and snow in winter. You could enjoy a very cool summer vacation in such a beautiful place!
