Established in 1952 with the name of Northwest Russian College, Xi'an International Studies University (XISU) is the only university in northwest China offering a complete range of foreign language programs. The university covers an area of 1.06 million square meters and is well equipped with advanced teaching devices like multimedia network classrooms, language labs, computer labs, for simultaneous interpretation labs, mock guided tour labs and labs for news editing. The university has now in total 28 teaching departments, 39 undergraduate programs and seven minor programs covering literature, economics, management, law, education and natural science. It also trains PhD candidates in conjunction with three overseas universities. Currently, the university has a total of 24,000 students, including master degree candidates, undergraduates, international students as well as short-term trainees.
西安外國語大學創建于1952年，前身是西北俄文專科學校。它是西北地區唯一的一所主要外語語種齊全的普通高校。學校總占地面積1593畝，建筑面積68.10萬平方米。學校辦學基礎設施完善，教學設備先進，多媒體網絡教室、語言實驗室、計算機實驗室、同聲傳譯室、模擬導游實驗室、新聞采編實驗室等現代化設施齊全。校現有28個院、系、部等教學機構，開設39個本科專業，7個輔修專業，覆蓋文學、經濟學、管理學、法學、教育學、理學、藝術學7個學科門類，與國外4所大學聯合培養博士研究生。現有碩士研究生、本專科生、外國留學生及各類培訓學生2.4萬余人。
