Beijing International Studies University (BISU), the former Beijing Second Foreign Languages Institute, was founded in 1964. Over the past decades, the university has developed into a multi-disciplinary educational establishment that offers courses in foreign languages, tourism, literature, management, economics, law and philosophy, with the studies of foreign languages as its dominant disciplines. The university offers 26 undergraduate majors and four master programs. The university enjoys a rational and well-structured composition of teaching faculty and technical support staff in terms of age, academic degrees, areas of specialization and academic titles. Of the 800-plus teachers and support staff members, over 200 are professors or associate professors. Most of teachers have studied abroad. The university also employs more than 60 foreign teachers and 120 part-time guest professors every year. The number of registered students nearly reaches 10,000, including undergraduates, postgraduates, international students and students of continued education.
北京第二外國語學院于1964年創立，是一所開設外國語言文學、旅游管理、文學、管理學、經濟學、法學等多學科門類協調發展的知名大學，是中國外語、翻譯、旅游、文學、管理、貿易、法律的重要基地。學校現有22個教學科研機構，設26個本科專業。學校擁有外國語言文學、工商管理、中國語言文學、應用經濟學4個一級學科碩士授權點，1個美學二級學科碩士授權點。學校擁有一支年齡、學歷、專業、職稱結構合理的師資隊伍。在800多名教職員工中，有超過200名正副教授，并且大多數教師都有海外留學經歷。學校還每年聘請兼職教授120多人，擁有外國專家60余名。在校學歷生近萬人，包括本科生、研究生、留學生和成人教育學歷生。
