Shenzhen is a major city in Southern China's Guangdong Province, situated immediately north of Hong Kong, on the eastern shore of the Pearl River Delta. Once a small fishing village, Shenzhen's bustling cityscape is the result of vibrant foreign investment and its status as a Special Economic Zone since the late 1970s.
