5. Discover the lost city of Jinsha

In 2001, archeologists digging just north of downtown Chengdu were amazed to discover a treasure trove of gold, jade, and bronze objects. As they kept digging, it quickly became apparent that they had unearthed the 3,000-year-old lost city of Jinsha (meaning 'golden sands' in English), making this one of the most fascinating and significant archaeological discoveries of the 21st century. Nowadays, visitors can now visit the Jinsha Site Museum to discover the secrets of the lost city.
