The China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association (CPCIA) launched its official website at www.cpcia.org.cn on June 28. This cyber forum aims to centralize industry information usually spread over a range of websites.
The CPCIA was set up in 2001 during Chinese petroleum industry reforms which removed its predecessor, the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Administration. The CPCIA has been positioned as an intermediary organization and given few supervisory functions.
