China, Mongolia to Further Bilateral Ties

China is ready to work with Mongolia to push forward their good-neighborly relations in the principle of treating neighbors as friends and partners, said Premier Wen Jiabao in Beijing Monday.

China and Mongolia share a land border of 4,700 kilometers, which serves as a bridge for the friendship and cooperation between people of the two countries, Wen said during a meeting with Mongolian President Nambaryn Enkhbayar.

Based on their sound economic relations, China and Mongolia have conducted fruitful cooperation in trade, investment and the contract of construction projects, as well as projects within multilateral frameworks, he said.

As China and Mongolia are both in an important stage of economic development, they have a good prospect in further cooperation, said Wen, adding that the two countries stick to the principle of mutual benefit in developing trade and economic cooperation.

"The two countries should improve their capability for sustainable development in the way to common prosperity," said Wen, who hoped that the two countries would focus on cooperation in resources exploration and infrastructure construction with a long-term perspective.

Enkhbayar said the good-neighborly partnership of mutual trust between Mongolia and China has developed smoothly, and the Mongolian government is grateful for the cooperation of China in Mongolia's the economic development.

He hoped the two countries would expand their trade and increase economic exchanges between the border areas.

He welcomed the Chinese side to participate in the development of agriculture, animal husbandry, electricity and mining, as well as infrastructure construction.

Mongolia is ready to learn China's experience in the construction of economic development zones, said Enkhbayar, who also expressed condolence to China for the causalities and property loses during the recent earthquake in the eastern province of Jiangxi.
