China's first mobile restaurant catering to automobile drivers will be launched in Beijing, the Shanghai Evening News said yesterday.
This is in accordance with Tricon (China) Restaurant Inc.'s plan it has recently announced to set up the Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) mobile chains in China. The US-based company operates two fast-food chain restaurants KFC and Pizza Hut in China.
Tricon is still choosing the location for its Shanghai KFC chain of the mobile restaurant.
The first Beijing KFC mobile restaurant will be in the Yayuncun commercial area in the north of the capital, Tricon said.
At the restaurant, drivers don't need to walk off the vehicles to get the food, but drive pass the shopping windows to take away the meals.
Analysts described the mobile restaurant program a result of the increasing number of private car buyers in China.
They said restaurant operators are turning to the huge potential of China's mobile dining market, which is undeveloped yet.
No mobile restaurants are in service in China.
