Public security department departments in the Chinese capital of Beijing will launch an offensive to crack down on crimes this summer, which was expected to last for three months, a spokesman for the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau has announced.
During the next three months, said the spokesman Thursday, public security departments in Beijing municipality would arouse and mobilize all policemen and officers and cooperate closely so as to respond to criminal and minor offenses in a timely and efficient manner.
He noted security checks at public sites will further be tightened, and that street theft, organized crime and burglary will be other top priorities for the new round of the strike-hard campaign this summer.
The objective of the offensive is to restore a sense of security among Beijing residents through crime prevention and crackdown, the spokesman said.
