For Xie Jinyi, the observation that many species in the natural world evolve from their original forms has inspired her to contemplate how existing man-made objects could similarly be recycled into resources by transforming them into new forms. "In my research, I'm particularly interested in plastic products that are often overly prevalent in our daily lives. I believe that good design may help recycle these materials and give them a new lease on life," she said. Associate Professor Wu Bo supervised this design work.
