The?Three
Gorges Dam in Yichang, central China's Hubei
Province, is open to?tourists from today until the end of
September.
Visitors can tour the dam in a battery-operated car for
sixty-eight yuan (US$8.21) per person. No more than 1,000 visitors
would be allowed per day.
Visitors have to pass through strict safety checks and obey the
safety rules under the watchful eyes of a security group organized
by the Three Gorges Tourism Development Co. Ltd.
Opening hours are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM every day.
The dam will be closed starting October 1 for electricity
equipment maintenance and repair.
