China Education News:
Mr. Fang, could you briefly introduce your grandfather's specific contributions to the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression? Additionally, how has your family's fine traditions been passed down during peacetime? Thank you.
Fang Zhiwei:
My grandfather's devotion to our homeland has now been passed down to our generation. I will also continue this family tradition by sending my children to China to learn about Chinese culture, which they can then bring back and promote abroad. My grandfather frequently organized events with the local Chinese community in Fiji, and they would regularly visit China for exchanges. Thank you.
China Media Group:
The speakers just shared many touching stories of overseas Chinese who, with sincere hearts, united to save their homeland. The victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression is a shared memory of the Chinese people both at home and abroad. Mr. Lin and Mr. Fang, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, what commemorative activities have Chinese communities in Myanmar and Fiji organized? Thank you.
Lin Wenmeng:
The Chinese community in Myanmar held a grand symposium at the Myanmar Chinese Chamber of Commerce to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. On Aug. 7, together with the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar and representatives from various sectors, we went to Toungoo to pay tribute at the Chinese Expeditionary Force (CEF) Memorial Monument and distributed supplies to representatives of CEF descendants. We remember history to cherish and safeguard peace. Thank you.
Fang Zhiwei:
This year marks the 170th anniversary of the Chinese arrival in Fiji, the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Fiji, and the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. Our Chinese community established a Chinese library and donated educational supplies to Fijian schools to strengthen the China-Fiji friendship. In addition, we held a symposium to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, where both long-established and recently arrived Chinese gathered to remember history. Thank you.
