Gaddafi calls for cease-fire negotiations with NATO

Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi called for negotiations with NATO powers to end the air strikes against Libya in a live television address early on Saturday, according to Xinhua News Agency.
Libya was still prepared to enter a cease-fire but this must involve all sides, Gaddafi said.
He also vowed that he will not leave the country.
While Gaddafi was calling for a cease-fire, NATO warplanes bombed a site in Tripoli next to the television building where he gave the address.
A Libyan official said the strikes were meant to kill Gaddafi.
On Thursday, UN Secretary-general Ban Ki-moon's special envoy to Libya traveled to Benghazi, an opposition stronghold in the east of the country, to meet with representatives of the Libyan opposition.
The UN Refugee Agency said it is "very concerned" that people fleeing Libya could be caught in the crossfire.
The World Food Program also warned that Libya is at risk of a full-blown food security crisis within the next 45 to 60 days.
