The Libyan government said on Thursday that the resignation of foreign minister Moussa Koussa, one of the regime's strongmen, is a personal issue, saying it has no information about any defected officials.

The Libyan government spokesman Mussa Ibrahim said at a press conference that Koussa asked the government for permission to rest because he was very ill, according to Al-Jazeera TV.
