MOSCOW -- A Russian military transport aircraft crashed Tuesday in Ivanovo, a central Russian region roughly 250 km northeast of Moscow, killing seven people on board, according to authorities.
"Today, in Ivanovo region, the military transport aircraft An-22 crashed during a test flight after undergoing maintenance. The aircraft fell in an uninhabited area," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

KIEV -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Tuesday that his country will be ready for elections in 60 to 90 days if the United States and Europe guarantee security for such a vote, the Interfax-Ukraine news agency reported.
"Moreover, I ask now, and I declare this openly, that the United States help me, possibly together with European colleagues, to ensure security for the elections. SYDNEY -- Australia's world-first social media ban for under-16s came into effect on Wednesday, with 10 major platforms, including Facebook, YouTube, TikTok and X, required to prevent them from holding accounts.
