KIEV, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on Tuesday welcomed the Group of Seven (G7) countries' statement on the intention to support Ukraine, including through the possible use of frozen Russian assets.

"Grateful to our G7 partners -- we remain firmly committed to close cooperation with our international partners and financial institutions to safeguard Ukraine's resilience and stability," Svyrydenko wrote on X.

The G7 countries issued the statement on Monday, saying that they will continue to develop, in line with their respective legal frameworks, a wide range of financing options to support Ukraine, including the potential use of the full value of the immobilized Russian assets.

According to the European Parliament, the total value of Russian sovereign assets immobilized by the European Union and the other G7 countries was estimated at around 260 billion euros (about 302 billion U.S. dollars). Enditem
