KABUL, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- A prominent Afghan political expert was badly injured in an attack perpetrated by two armed gunmen at his residence in the capital Kabul, local media outlet TOLOnews reported on Thursday.
The ambush transpired within Saleem Paigir's residential compound in Police District 4, allegedly stemming from personal animosity, TOLOnews cited Abdul Mateen Qani, the spokesman for the Ministry of Interior Affairs.
The victim, who sustained severe wounds, is presently undergoing medical treatment at a hospital, with his condition described as stable but requiring vigilant monitoring, Qani added.
Among the duo of perpetrators, one has been apprehended by security forces, while an intensive pursuit is underway to detain the remaining fugitive, the official detailed.
