AMMAN, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- Jordan on Friday dispatched its 190th relief convoy to the Gaza Strip and carried out a multinational airdrop operation, delivering 43 truckloads and 82 tonnes of food and humanitarian supplies, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization, in coordination with the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), sent 43 trucks carrying food aid to Gaza as part of the kingdom's ongoing support for the enclave.

Separately, the JAF conducted an airdrop mission with the participation of air forces from Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Belgium, France, Italy and Singapore, delivering about 82 tonnes of food and relief items.

Since the resumption of airdrop operations on July 27, the JAF has carried out 155 missions, while the total conducted jointly with allied countries has reached 344.

The Royal Jordanian Air Force has so far delivered about 770 tonnes of aid and essential supplies by air, the report said.

The latest deliveries came as Gaza-based health authorities reported four more deaths from famine and malnutrition in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of hunger-related deaths to 239, including 106 children.

The total number of people killed by Israeli strikes since October 2023 has risen to 61,776, with another 154,906 wounded, according to the health authorities. Enditem
