HANOI -- The death toll has risen to 28 after a cruise ship capsized in Ha Long Bay, northern Vietnam's Quang Ninh province, on Saturday afternoon, Vietnam News Agency reported.
At around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, the vessel was caught in a sudden storm. By 2:05 p.m., it had lost contact and subsequently sank, according to the state-owned media.
The vessel was carrying 48 passengers, including 24 men and 24 women, with many of them being young people and children, local newspaper Tien Phong (Pioneer) reported. (Vietnam-Capsizing-Casualties)

NEW DELHI -- Indian security forces gunned down six armed Naxals rebels, including four women, in the central state of Chhattisgarh on Saturday, according to police.
The encounter between the security forces and the armed rebels took place in Narayanpur area of Chhattisgarh.
All the six Naxals killed belonged to the "People's Liberation Guerrilla Army Platoon Number 1." (India-Rebels-Security)

MOSCOW -- Russian forces carried out a massive strike on enterprises of Ukraine's military-industrial complex, the Russian Defense Ministry said Saturday.
The attack involved high-precision air-, ground- and sea-launched weapons, as well as drones, and all designated targets were hit, the ministry said in a statement.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Telegram that Russia launched more than 300 drones and over 30 cruise missiles overnight, killing one person and injuring six others in Odesa. (Russia-Ukraine)

TEHRAN -- At least 21 people were killed and 37 others injured on Saturday as a bus overturned on an intercity road in Iran's southern Fars province, the official news agency IRNA reported.
The incident occurred on the road from the counties of Firuzabad to Kavar at 11:00 a.m. local time (0730 GMT), the report said.
Three teams of rescuers were immediately sent to the scene upon receiving the incident's report, the IRNA quoted Managing Director of the provincial Red Crescent Society Hossein Darvishi as saying. (Iran-Accident-Casualties) Enditem
