Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic congratulated Monday the Serbian team on winning a silver at the European Basketball Championships for players under 16 years of age.

"You have proved once more, that Serbia is a country where top quality basketball is played. I congratulate you on winning this silver medal and hope that in the future you will bring many more of them to Serbia," said Prime Minister Dacic on the Serbian government website.

The Serbian team finished second to Spain in the European Championship, after a dramatic finale on Sunday, which was finally decided after extra time with a result of 65-63.

After winning gold in 2007, and bronze in 2009 and 2012, this is the fourth medal for Serbian U16 teams, since Serbia has started competing as an independent state in 2007. Endi
