The 4th China-Europe High-Level Political Parties Forum ended on April 23, 2013 in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province.

During the forum, representatives from both China and Europe discussed the theme of "Promoting Win-Win cooperation for new breakthroughs in China-Europe relations with the goal of enhancing mutual trust."

Chen Fengxiang, vice-minister of the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, stated during the forum’s closing ceremony that both parties realized China and Europe now need each other more than ever and currently find themselves under better circumstances for tighter cooperation.

During the closing ceremony, the representatives of both parties stated conclusions on three sub-sessions, respectively: Building a cooperative and win-win China-Europe community of common interest and goals; China's path of peaceful development and China-Europe cooperation in international affairs; China's "new four modernizations" drive (industrialization, informatization, urbanization and agricultural modernization) and China-EU concrete cooperation.

They emphasized the complementarities of China and Europe at all levels and made it clear that a further development of China-Europe relations lies in the interest of both parties.

The European representative said that they hoped the China-Europe High-Level Political Parties Forum would continue to take place in order to explore things, instill energy for China-Europe cooperation and develop into an important mainstay of China-Europe relations.

China-Europe High-Level Political Parties Forum was initiated in 2010. The forums were held in turn by the two parties and have successfully been hosted a total of three times thus far.

The forum this time gathered some 200 representatives from across China and Europe, including political party officials from 27 European countries, regional European political parties and high-ranking officials from European think tanks.
