South Korea's military authorities defined in its guidelines for troops those "blindly follow" the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) as the "enemy" of the country, which remains technically at war with its northern neighbor, local media reported Wednesday.

The guidelines, reportedly approved by defense minister Kim Kwan-jin, said pro-DPRK groups are attempt to cause confusion in the society by rejecting South Korea's national identify and instigating anti-state activities.

The guidelines accused alleged DPRK sympathizers of advocating Pyongyang's anti-Seoul policy by calling for a withdrawal of U.S. forces based here and repeal of a vaguely defined law banning activities aiding the enemy.

It is the first time the defense ministry laid out guidelines on pro-Pyongyang groups, some of which have been found as anti- state organizations in court rulings.

A truce, not a peace treaty, terminated the 1950-53 Korean War, leaving the two Koreas technically at war with each other.
