At least five people have died and nearly a dozen others have been injured in a collision between a jeep and a bus at Murgiya Bazaar in Rupandehi district in western Nepal Saturday morning.

Three people died on the spot and two others died while undergoing treatment at a local hospital, the Area Police Office stated.

The jeep was heading towards the east when it collided head-on with the bus on the East-West Highway at about 6 a.m. local time. Police and locals are rescuing the injured. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
