An Iranian Oil Ministry official, quoted by the semi-official Mehr news agency on Sunday, denied the earlier reports that Iran had refused oil shipment to Greece.

Earlier on the day, the local Fars news agency said that the Islamic republic refused to deliver a shipment of 500,000 barrels of crude oil to one of the refineries in Greece.

"Oil tankers which had moved to the shipment place to transfer 500,000 barrels of Iranian oil to one of the refineries in Greece went back barehanded as Iran refused to deliver the shipment," said Fars.

However, Pirouz Mousavi, managing director of the National Iranian Oil Terminals Co., told Mehr on Sunday that crude oil is being sold to all foreign customers and Iran's oil exports to Greece have not been disrupted.

In recent weeks, a number of contradictory reports have been released by the Iranian media over the oil disruptions to European Union (EU) states.
