A 5.6-magnitude quake rattled the province of Erzican in eastern Turkey on Thursday, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported.
Bogazici University's Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute said the epicenter of the quake, which occurred at 06:22 a.m. local time (0322 GMT), was at Cengerli village of Refahiye town in Erzican.
No casualties were reported from the moderate quake.
"Initial reports show no loss of life or damage to the buildings," said Selman Yenigun, Erzincan governor.
Nearly 33,000 people were killed in a massive 8.2-magnitude earthquake in Erzincan in 1939. The province sits on the far eastern edge of the North Anatolian Fault.
