"We hope relevant parties can stick to diplomatic efforts and seek an effective resolution through dialogue and negotiations," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Jiang Yu told a regular press briefing.

The Republic of Korea unveiled unilateral sanctions on Iran on Sept. 8 for its contentious nuclear program suspected to be a cover for developing nuclear weapons. Previously, the U.S., EU and Japan announced separate sanctions against the Middle East country.
