The death toll of the twin blasts in Ugandan capital of Kampala late Sunday night has risen to 78, the spokesperson for Uganan Red Cross Catherine Ntabadde confirmed on Monday afternoon.

The second one ripped through Kyadondo Rugby Club, east of Kampala, where hundreds of football fans were watching the World Cup final.
So far, 57 people were hospitalized and another 14 were treated for minor injuries and discharged. Three Americans who were among the injured were airlifted to Nairobi for further treatment.
Ugandan government has set up identification and trauma centers at Mulago Hospital and Kampala International Hospital.
Al shabab, an armed faction fighting Somali Transitional Government warned Uganda and Burundi against deploying peacekeepers in Somalia, threatening to launch attacks in their capital cities on civilian targets.
The blasts occurred a week before the African Union summit is to be hosted here, which would bring together most African leaders and senior officials, raising concerns on the security during the meeting.
