A court in Thailand on Friday denied a bail application for 114 anti-government protesters facing charges of terrorism.

It is concerned that these 114 suspects may create new violence, the Thai News Agency (TNA) reported.

Though the violence by the "red-shirt" protesters ended Wednesday afternoon, the government has still maintained the enforcement of emergency rule to ensure security.

From April 7, the emergency rule has been imposed in capital Bangkok and several other provinces, giving police and army expanded powers to control the anti-government protests.

Of the 114 suspects, 34 are being held at the Naresuan army base in central Phetchaburi province, 45 others are at the detention center of the Border Patrol Police Region 1 in a central province of Pathum Thani, according to a report of the Nation newspaper's website.

The remainders are under the police's custody at Pathumwan and Lumpini police stations in central Bangkok.
