Three people were killed and 10 others injured in a road accident on Friday in Bangladesh's Comilla district, 96 km southeast of capital Dhaka.

Highway police were quoted by private news agency UNB as saying the accident occurred at 2 p.m. local time as a Dhaka-bound bus hit a roadside tree when its driver tried to overtake a truck, leaving the bus driver dead on the spot.

Twelve people injured in the accident were admitted to a local hospital where 2 people died after admission.
