Thai anti-government red-shirt protesters from 18:30 p.m. Friday put tire on road blocking the entrance and exit of the state-owned Chulalongkorn Hospital in central Bangkok, the state-run NBT Television reported.

In the afternoon the protesters agreed to clear part of the road in front of the hospital to allow ambulances and patients to go.

At 14:00 p.m. Metropolitan Police Commissioner Santhan Chayanon, Division 1 Commander Wichai Sangprapai and red-shirts' leader Suporn Attawong inspected the scene to ensure the road was not blocked by tire.

Meanwhile, the hospital started evacuating patients to other hospitals for safety after the protesters' incursion on Thursday night, Thai News Agency reported.

The protesters led by Payap Panket stormed the Chulalongkorn Hospital to search for troops they thought were hiding there, but found none.

Later on Friday one of the red-shirts' core leader Weng Tojirakarn apologized for the incursion.

The red-shirts have been camped out at the Rathchaprasong Intersection, a commercial hub in central Bangkok for six weeks to press Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva to dissolve the lower house of parliament and hold early general election.
