The Thai anti-government group Tuesday poured their collected blood on the footpath in front of the ruling Democrat Party's headquarters in the capital of Bangkok.

The blood pouring on the footpath was organized at 18:41 p.m. local time, by the anti-government United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) protesters, Thai News Agency reported.

Four companies of police officers were deployed at the party's headquarters, including the one from Metropolitan Police Division 2, with one more from the provincial police of Samut Songkhram, and from Chanthaburi, to maintain security.

But, all of the policemen were not armed, according to a report by the National News Bureau of Thailand (NNT) under the Public Relations Department of the government.

Also, some 50 plain-cloth policemen were there to take pictures and videotapes of the ritual for a possible law-breaking incident.

Metropolitan Police Commissioner Pol-Lt General Santhan Chayanon inspected the scene to ensure the security readiness to deal with the red-shirted people.

Pouring the blood is the latest step of the red-shirted people in a move to pressure the coalition government to dissolve the parliament.
