China said Tuesday it hoped all other parties involved would make concerted efforts with it to push for dialogue and negotiation on Iran nuclear issue by "adopting more constructive measures".

Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi made the remarks after hour-long talks with British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs David Miliband.

Iran nuclear issue attracted wide attention from the international community, and China is more concerned on the current situation, Yang told the press after the talks.

He said China still hoped "all other relevant parties would, together with us, to adopt more constructive measures so as to avoid further deterioration of the situation, and push for the gradual progress in the track of dialogue and negotiations."

China, a permanent member of the UN Security Council, is also a key member of the six-nation mechanism on Iran's nuclear issue, which also includes the United States, Russia, Britain, France and Germany.

China would maintain closer contacts with parties concerned and continue its efforts to push for the diplomatic resolution to the issue, Yang said.
