Top Chinese legislator Wu Bangguo on Thursday vowed to enhance parliamentary cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in a meeting with Kyrgyz Prime Minister Igor Chudinov.

Chudinov is in Beijing on an official visit to China and has attended a regular prime ministers' meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, which was held on Wednesday.

"We are ready to work with Kyrgyzstan to increase friendly cooperation between the two governments, parliaments and political parties," said Wu, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature.

"China and Kyrgyzstan should also expand pragmatic cooperation in areas like economy, trade and culture," Wu said.

Wu also expressed the willingness to work with Kyrgyzstan to jointly fight "East Turkistan" forces and the "three forces" of separatism, terrorism and extremism.

"This would help the comprehensive development of China-Kyrgyzstan good-neighborly friendship," he noted.

Hailing the smooth growth of China-Kyrgyzstan ties since forging diplomatic ties 17 years ago, Wu said the two nations had solved the boundary issue left by the history, and signed good-neighborly treaty of friendship.

Wu said the two countries have enjoyed mutual understanding and support in major issues concerning each other's concern, made pragmatic cooperation in various areas, and maintained close coordination within the framework of the United Nations and the SCO, he noted.

"To advance China-Kyrgyzstan ties accords with fundamental interests of the two nations and the two peoples, and is conducive to regional stability and prosperity," he said.

Chudinov congratulated China on the 60th anniversary of the founding the People's Republic of China, saying the achievements China has made in the past 60 years proved the country's right choice of the development path.

Chudinov reiterated that his country firmly adheres to the one-China policy and support China's measures to safeguard stability of the far western Xinjiang region.

The prime minister said Kyrgyzstan would work with China to fight the "three forces" and enhance cooperation in security areas.

Chudinov, also attended the eighth prime ministers' meeting of the SCO member states, which Chinese President Hu Jintao haild a success.

Chinese President Hu Jintao called on the SCO member states to jointly tackle global financial crisis in a meeting with prime ministers from Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan on Wednesday.

The SCO comprises China, Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. Mongolia, India, Iran and Pakistan are observers to the regional organization.

Hu said that with the current complex and changing interactional situation and profound adjustment of international structure, some unstable and uncertain factors affecting regional security and development are increasing instead of decreasing.

The SCO needs further construction and cooperation for the sake of not only tackling the global financial crisis but also properly dealing with hotspots, said Hu.

All the member states should look at the development and construction of the SCO from a longer perspective, participate in regional economic cooperation within the SCO framework in a more open attitude, boost ties between SCO and observers, dialogue partners and other friendly countries and international organizations from a wider viewpoints, said Hu.
