The total death toll of the 7.6 magnitude quake in West Sumatra of Indonesia last month topped 1, 115 people after the authorities declared the missing people dead, the country's Disaster Management Agency said here Wednesday.

Searching for those buried under the debris and landslides after the quake occurred on Sept. 30, had been stopped as they had been buried for 15 days, spokesman of the agency Priyadi Kardono said.

"We have declared the 237 missing persons as dead, so the searching has been stopped," he told Xinhua.

The spokesman said that there were no foreign citizen who became the victim of the catastrophe.

Relief work such as humanitarian mission and aids operation have been underway in the province to help thousands of quake survivors who have been homeless and have been getting medical treatment.

Tens of millions of financial assistance have flown into the province from the government and non-governmental groups.

The government would give financial assistance to the people to rebuild their houses.
