China and Vietnam on Wednesday reaffirmed their commitment to develop bilateral relations.

The pledge came from the meeting of Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping and Hoang Binh Quan, chief of the international department of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), in Beijing.

Xi reviewed the progress in China-Vietnam relations, particularly the upgrading to an all-round strategic partnership when Chinese President Hu Jintao and CPV top leader Nong Duc Manh met in Beijing last year.

As next year will mark the 60th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties, Xi called for both countries to take the opportunity to flesh out and deepen the all-round strategic partnership.

"Both should increase mutual strategic trust, deepen cooperation, and seek common development," Xi said.

As socialist countries, China and Vietnam should increase their communication on party building and state governance, Xi said.

Hoang conveyed the congratulations of Vietnam Communist Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh and other Vietnamese leader on New China's 60th founding anniversary, which falls on Oct,1.

"Vietnam will do its utmost to foster and develop the ties, which is good for both nations and the region and the world at large," he said.

Hoang and his delegation will stay in the Chinese capital until Thursday.
