The US-dominated International Space Station, or ISS, is set to be retired by 2024. If China's space station is successfully launched by 2022, it will soon become the only operational space station in orbit. Despite the US ban on China from using the ISS, China's government has said it is open to space cooperation with all nations, including the United States, and will reserve payload on its space station for foreign projects and astronauts.
