Berlin is the first leg of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang's week-long European tour. This is his second visit to Germany since he took office last year.

In Berlin, the premier will co-chair the China-Germany governmental consultations with Chancellor Angela Merkel. He's also scheduled to attend the Hamburg Summit, which over 5 hundred political and business leaders will attend, making it the largest Chinese-European business meeting ever held. Li Keqiang's three-nation European tour will also take him to Russia and Italy, where he will attend the 10th Asia-Europe Meeting in Milan.
