More Chinese vessels are now en route to the search area and China's Maritime Search and Rescue Center says it’s altered the deployment of its search teams.

Two rescue ships that were heading for the north Indian Ocean have been diverted south after passing through the strait of Malacca. Other ships that were searching areas in the southern corridor, one of two possible last detection zones of the plane, are continuing their mission, and are heading south to the reported debris. One of them is China's biggest rescue ship, Haixun 01.

The scientific research vessel, "Xuelong", which has just finished its expedition in Antarctica, is also now heading towards the area where the debris was spotted.

Five other Chinese navy ships are on their way to the search zone, but won't arrive there for another 5 days. One Chinese cargo ship, which is relatively close to the area, is also on its way.
