Permanent Representative of Syria to the UN, Bashar Ja'afari, has expressed dissatisfaction with a resolution adopted by the UN. He's said the resolution will only serve to escalate the ongoing crisis.

"It is surprising that the resolution, which is not binding, has been tabled under the agenda item 'Prevention of Armed Conflict'. Its content contradicts the purpose of this noble agenda item. This resolution will escalate the crisis and fuel violence in Syria. It creates a dangerous precedent in international relations by attempting to legitimize and provide weapons to terrorist groups in Syria," said Bashar Ja'afari, permanent representative of Syria to UN.
