The Shenzhen Universiade gymnastics event will be lacking one of China’s most established stars. Cheng Fei is out due to injury and National Team selected two other female gyms to represent China in the Games. Xiao Kangjun and Guan Wenlei will compete for China in the Women’s Gymnastics.

Guan Weilei is a student athlete from Sichuan University’s Sport College, her specialty is the balance beam. And Guan goes into the game as China’s best medal hope in the event.

Xiao Kangjun comes from Shanghai Sport College. She’s an all around gymnast. World Champion and Olympic gold medalist Cheng Fei has been forced to withdraw from the World Universiade due to her knee injury. Cheng was hurt during the National Games last year and says she has a fully balanced back since then.
