The World Health Organization has opened its 64th World Health Assembly in Geneva. Public health officials from 193 World Health Organization Members are attending the assembly. A draft HIV strategy is on the agenda.

HIV has become the "Number one killer" infectious disease in China since 2008. The death toll from HIV grows rapidly in the country every year. According to the Ministry of Health, nearly 16 thousand people suffered HIV in 2010 and half of them died. Chinese authorities will commit to decreasing HIV infection in the next 5 years.
